Channel value flow · marine receipt to dispatch
Terminal service and supply-chain timing, not upstream gas processing or commodity trading. Parcel volumes come from the existing DEMO vessel fixtures; dispatch splits and interruption timing below are assumptions.
Single-parcel dispatch assumptions
This 12 ML parcel only; not daily throughput, total tank inventory or an actual nomination. Starting allocations assume 70% pipeline, 10% road and 20% retained; a 24-hour window and six-hour interruption are illustrative.
Marine receipt → dispatch or retention
Band width represents ML from this one parcel, not financial value. Deferred fuel remains held; it is not a leak, physical loss or additional supply.
- Pipeline dispatched
- 6.300 ML
- Road dispatched
- 1.200 ML
- Planned retention
- 2.400 ML
- Deferred pipeline parcel
- 2.100 ML
Balance: 12.000 ML receipt = 7.500 ML dispatched + 4.500 ML held, including 2.100 ML deferred pipeline dispatch. No evaporation, measurement adjustment or fuel loss is assumed.
Constraint → response → verification
This scenario assumes uniform dispatch over the entered transfer window. It does not diagnose a real pipeline constraint.
Check the actual nomination, pump duty, integrity restrictions and available transfer window before rescheduling.
Accountable verification
Pipeline operations should reconcile metered delivered volume and the customer nomination after restart; finance should confirm whether deferred service was recovered.
Source, formula and commercial boundary
Source: synthetic vessel fixture DEMO-V01, parcel 12 ML, product Jet, arrival 2026-10-28, berth Jetty 1, snapshot 2026-10-28. Selecting a vessel resets this browser-only scenario. Nothing is persisted to nominations or the value ledger.
Deferred ML = planned pipeline ML × min(interruption hours / planned window hours, 1). Pipeline dispatched = planned pipeline ML − deferred ML. Planned retention = parcel − planned pipeline ML − road ML. Held parcel = planned retention + deferred ML. Assumes uniform transfer, no catch-up, independent road dispatch and no physical product loss. Pressure, pump limits, batch sequencing, shore receipt rate, vessel demurrage, actual tank ullage and alternative nominations are not solved.
Optional variable-fee timing exposure = deferred ML × user-entered NZD/ML tariff. The tariff is unknown until entered; zero is an explicit zero-rate assumption. No contract entitlement, fuel-ownership margin, fixed storage revenue loss, demurrage, penalties or annualisation is inferred. Deferral may be recovered later; finance must reconcile contractual terms and actual outcomes before recording a benefit or loss.
